Steering Pontiac Off The Road

There is no way this is going to fly, it adds to much weight to the front end, is esthetically unpleasant and carries with it a foul odor,” said Auto Club President J.J. LeMans.  “We are totally opposed to GM’s efforts in this regard,” he added.  “We are all in agreement that they should just let the brand ride off into the sunset as originally planned.”

Pontiac Division Chief Ray MIchaels was surprised by the negative reaction.  “We really believed we were on to something,” he said.  “We felt we were very close to working all the bugs out and putting this car back on the road.” Michaels indicated that the company may produce a few dozen of the cars to sell to collectors and museums.
