There is confusion today regarding the number of medals won by each participating country in the London Olympics because, it appears, nobody was writing down the information. “We didn’t realize that no one was actually keeping track of this,” said Miles Louden, assistant director of the Olympic Committee. “Everyone just assumed that someone else was keeping a count of the medals but, evidently no one was actually writing down the winners,” he added. “This is quite embarrassing.”
Olympic organizers said they will attempt to contact all participants and try to put together an official list of winners and their medal before the middle of the week. “It’s going to be a crap shoot since we will have to rely on the honesty and integrity of each nation’s Olympic Committee.” said Louden. “We may never be 100% accurate this year but, we have learned a valuable lesson and we will make sure this never happens again.”
